Are you ready for some Enchantment?!

Enchantment L3 - detail on left 1 It’s all beauty… no beast!

rich vibrant colors:  eggplant, peacock, pomegranate, and poppy to name a few.

bold large scale patterns: big monochromatic spots, wide beachy/cabana stripes, AND

several patterned papers in small-scale patterns to coordinate and keep it all balanced.

The March mix crop features 2-page scrapbook layouts with the gorgeous Enchantment Fundamentals, coordinating “My Boy” Complements, Enchantment Ribbon Pack and various enamel and glittered adhesive gems.  Attend the crop (Thursday March 23rd) or order the kit “to go” and you’ll be able to make all of these layouts for your own albums!  When you RSVP by March 14th, I’ll pre-order the kit you choose (see options here:   Scrapbooking Mix Crop – Kit Options for Enchantment) to have everything ready for you by next Thursday at the Mix Crop.

Here are the three scrapbook layout samples

Layout #1 – bold stripes — beyond the beach

I chose the bold striped patterned paper in Pomegranate and paired it up with the swiss dot patterned paper in the same Pomegranate color.  I can’t get enought of that deep red color!  For the most part I wanted to keep the whole layout monochromatic so my photos wouldn’t get lost on the page.

My photo subject for this layout was a Cubs Game outing …. when my oldest was just a baby and when winning the world series seemed like an impossibility…. so I did work in little bits of blue.  You can see it in the bakers twine from the ribbon kit, a banner and complement sticker, and the blue enamel dots.

Here are some extra photos zooming in on some of the layout details.  Thin cuts are all on sale this month so I added some glittery stars too.

Layout #2 – seeing spots

Disclaimer – everyone in my family thinks I have gone bananas to do a whole scrapbook layout about my car.  But I  was really, really excited to move beyond my years as part of the (mini)Van-Clan.  If you laugh at me about this layout, know that you’re not alone.  :-)

With the exception of an embellishment cluster in the lower right corner and the XOXO element on the right side of the layout, I am letting the peacock colored spotted paper have the bottom portion of the layout all to itself — and then I’m adding all of my photos and most embellishments above that on some more subtle background paper.  I added a swath of the New England Ivy grid patterned paper in the center and then a swath of Memo Fundamentals patterned paper across the top.  Most of the kraft & black accents around the photos are from the Complement assortment but I also added in some satin ribbon from the ribbon assortment and some black enamel dots.  Here are some extra close up photos.

Layout #3 – lovin’ the leftovers…

This layout with a basic grid of 3×3 photos will probably look a little bit different for each person who makes it and I know they’ll all be awesome!!!

  •  You choose which ever patterned papers you wish for the 3×3 squares between and around the photos.
  • And then what sentiments and accents you use and stamp around those pictures is also totally up to you.  I used a couple fun new stamp sets:  Silly Sayings from the Seasonal Expressions catalog AND This & That from the Annual Inspirations catalog.
  • You’ll have a lot of complements to choose from!  I also added some glittery black stars (Thin Cut) and lots of enamel gems in black, white, blue, green and purple.

I also just adore the bigger sentiment stamped on to the fern spotted square.  It says:  “Live in the moments and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.”  Good advice if you read it in a card, on a home decor piece, or on a scrapbook layout!  Don’t you agree?

If you’d like to get a kit to make all these layouts for yourself, here are the options:

  1. Plan to attend my March 23rd Mix Crop by signing up (send me an email with your kit choice) by March 14th.
  2. If you can’t make it to the mix crop, you can order a Kit “to go”.  There may be an extra charge if you want me to do any of the stamping before you pick up the kit.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.  I hope you like what you saw!

August Constant Campaign

As you page through the new Annual Inspirations Catalog you’ll notice some big changes to the Paper Fundamentals line.  For each Close To My Heart color family there’s a whole new set of beautiful papers — with a mix of small, medium and large scale patterns — that are designed to mix together within each color family BUT also designed to coordinate with the themed paper collections to be featured in the Seasonal and Holiday Expressions Mini Catalogs.    Within each color family you’ll also notice beefed up packs of complements AND a ribbon pack!   And the color palette that got the biggest boost is Basics… which now are anything BUT Basic!    In fact there are two “basic” categories:

  • RUSTIC HOME Fundamentals:  think wood grains, kraft paper, vellup papers and copper foil accents.  AND
  • UPTOWN Fundamentals:  think bold Black & White with some vellum and gold foil accents.

And August is a great time to stock up on all paper packs for the other color palettes (Whimsy, Adventure, and Enchantment).  And when you do, you’ll be able to choose one of the Basic collections (Rustic Home OR Uptown) for free!  Click here for more details on this great promotion!

HAPPY TIMES: honoring Mom/Grandma (+ win FREE product)

Happy Times - Layout 2a web

I have wanted to do a layout like this — honoring my Mom for the love she has shared with us through her hand-sewn gifts AND in the time she shares in teaching my daughters how to sew — for a long time!  The delicate floral papers from the HAPPY TIMES collection was perfect!!!

I love the combination of the florals with the bold gold cardstock and assorted shimmery gold embellishments and I think this layout could work for many other photos and photo subjects too!

This is another layout that features papers from the HAPPY TIMES collection that you can earn for FREE this month with a $60 order.

And I accented the layout with stamped sentiments from one of my favorite new stamp sets called Beyond Awesome because, well… my Mom IS Awesome!

Here’s the whole layout and some brief info on supplies used:

April SOTM – Life in “Mini Album” Pictures

More crafting with the LIFE IN PICTURES stamp set!Apr2016 - Mini Album

I had so much fun creating this Mini Album

(which I’ll give to a friend who recently had a new baby!)

Close to My Heart calls this the Hip Pics Album (Z1956) and it’s part of the My Creations line of goodies for paper crafting like blank calendars, an assortment of mini albums, containers for little gifts and favors.  All sorts of fun to be had!!!

This Hip Pics album is made of sturdy Kraft Chipboard and includes 16 white photo pocket pages to hold 4×6 photos.  The photo opening is a square so each page has some white space to allow for decorating (stamping) or to jot down a few notes about each picture.

INSPIRATION - A card on Pinterest inspired my design for the cover of this mini album which — at 5.25″ wide x 6.5″ tall — is just a little bigger than your average greeting card.  So any card design you see anywhere, can be easily adapted to create a one of a kind cover on a mini album for yourself or someone else!

TECHNIQUE TIP - I chose the basic camera image from the LIFE IN PICTURES stamp set and stamped it onto the glossy side of a scrap of Saddle Paper Fundamentals cardstock.  That’s why you can see that circular design on the black body of the camera.  There’s a close up photo below.  I really like how easy it was to do that!!!

Apr2016 - Mini Album - detail

OTHER DETAILS – In addition to using the April Stamp Set of the Month, I used the view master image from the Reel Life (B1431)stamp set, the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (Z1996), a few self-adhesive Red Enamel Hearts (Z2009) and ink pads in Black and Saddle.  Send me an email to let me know if you’re interested in the exact colors and dimensions of the cardstock elements used to create this album cover.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!!!  I hope my friend enjoys adding pictures of her sweet new bundle of love into this album AND I hope you’re inspired by this project.

I have a couple more cards to share with you in the days ahead while the Life in Pictures stamp set — so check back with my blog this weekend and next week.  LIFE IN PICTURES is still available to buy… for just $5 with a $50 order — but only in April 2016 so don’t delay.
